MAUI TRIP 2026
The Maui Marine Science trip is run separately from POST through its own non-profit. POST is supporting getting the word out about this great opportunity. The Maui trip is a place to learn a bunch of science, do community service, meet new people, and have tons of fun! There will be kayaking, swimming, beach walks, and so much more. Join us over Spring Break from April 8th-18th, 2026. Forms are already out! To apply, please scan and email completed application to mauimarinescience@gmail.com. Please turn in forms ASAP. Alyssa
Gehman
Alyssa (she/her) is based in xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) nation territory in Vancouver BC. She is a marine disease ecologist at the Hakai Institute, an adjunct professor in the UBC Institute of Oceans and Fisheries and a member of the Biodiversity Research Centre. Alyssa is particularly interested in the interactions between infected hosts and their communities, as well as the impact of temperature on host-parasite interactions.
Scott Maggowan
Scott is the founder of POST84, the 501(c)3. He leads this trip as a way to provide some of the hands-on learning experiences that truly connect people, culture, science, and the environment.
