Intro to Rock is a rock climbing trip for people of all skill levels who are looking to learn, have a good time, and experience the beauty of Vantage, Washington. Anyone can come, regardless of their rock climbing abilities. Over the three days, we will learn the basics of top-rope climbing, climb in various locations, go on hikes, and have lots of time to mess around in the outdoors!

Students will leave after school on May 17th, driven by staff members, to set up camp at The Feathers (Frenchman Coulee).

PAYMENT MODEL
All post trips are run on a pay-what-you-can model. The full cost of Intro To Rock is $60, but please do not allow this to be a barrier for you. Please pay the amount that is possible for you and your family, whether that is full price or full scholarship. If you are able to pay more than the full price please consider doing so. As a non-profit organization, donations like these are key to allowing us to create opportunities for those who cannot.

What you pay will never be a factor of whether or not you are placed on a trip.

TRIP FORMS

When you make your payment to this portal you will be asked to fill out your online form. A packing list is included below, so please reference that so you know what items to request if needed. Bear in mind that submitting this form is not a guarantee of your placement on the trip, in the event you are not placed on the trip or have to cancel you will be refunded in full (unless you cancel within less than 72 hours of the trip).

These are the items you should pack for this trip, any and all of these things can be provided to you if you do not own or have access to them, there will be a designated place on your form to list what you need :

Clothing and Gear:

  • Water bottle (Nalgene size or larger)

    Tent

    Short sleeve shirts

    Long sleeve shirts

    Warm sweater/fleece

    Shorts

    Warm pants for the night

    Pajamas

    Socks

    Underwear

    Sturdy, close-toed shoes for hiking and climbing (hiking boots or sneakers)

    Money for dinner for the first day (if needed POST can pay)

    Sun glasses

    Sunscreen

    Flashlight/headlamp

    Sleeping bag

    Sleeping pad

    Pillow

    Toiletries (toothbrush, deodorant, etc)

    Insect repellent (just in case)

    Mess kit (spoon, fork, bowl/plate)

    Climbing Gear (will be provided, but if you have your own please bring it!) This includes:
